Environment Agency campaign on dental amalgam separators

January 24, 2011

Over the next few weeks the Environment Agency's Chemical Compliance Team will be running a compliance campaign targeting dental practices. This is being run to assess the level of compliance with legislation relating to waste disposal and the use of amalgam separators. This will be initially localised small scale campaign (in the east of the country) which may be repeated in the future depending on its results.

Subject to findings during the campaign, the Agency intends to produce a guidance document in conjunction with the SMDSA to assist waste producers.
