Department of Health Guidance

7th July - The Department of Health has written to all NHS Chief Executives providing guidance on the application of HWR to the NHS and advises that further information on waste segregation and compliance with the Hazardous Waste Regulations will be issued shortly in the form of a new guidance document by the Department of Health Estates & Facilities Directorate.


We assume the latter refers to the revision to the "Safe Disposal of Clinical Waste" (The purple book) which SMDSA and its Members have been major contributors to.  The document is due to be released shortly for consultation.
